A 7 Yr Old Birthday Party

Jackie had her first "friend" birthday party this year.  We had a "pj" party...in which there was no sleepover involved!  She had 12 girls from her grade, plus Gwen.  We also had a few of the older neighbor girls come and help with our kids and the girls.  We had it on a Saturday morning, complete with some breakfast food. They decorated bags to take home, played some games, and the grand finale of the party was real live bunnies.  We found someone that raises and shows bunnies and she brought over 10 of them for the girls to hold.  They also provided a bunny craft for the girls to do.  It was a hit!  We sent them all home with bunny slippers and a box of cereal to put in their decorated bags.  It was a fun party, and everything turned out great..plus there was one happy birthday girl in the end!

A 1/2 Birthday!

This little nugget turned 6 months old on us this past weekend!  I can hardly believe it.   Josie went in last week for her well check.  She is up to 15lbs 5 oz and 26 1/2 inches tall.  She is by far are smallest 6 month old...but she is up to the 25-50 percentile in weight and 50-75th in height.  Even the doctor noticed her little leg rolls, from the last time we were in.

Eating:  She seems to like everything so far...green beans, peas, squash...will try carrots tonight for the first time.  She eats both oatmeal and rice cereal.  She nurses about 4-5 times a day and then eats solids twice.

Sleeping:  She's had a great week!  She hasn't eaten in the middle of the night for about 3 weeks now, however sometimes still wakes up and needs a pacifier or some help getting back to sleep.  This week, has been her best one yet...with only having to go in maybe once or twice.  And that is usually right away at night(before 11pm) or early in the morning(like 5am), otherwise she sleeps from about 730pm to 700am.   She is also taking 3 regular naps a day, with her mid-day one lasting about 1 1/2 to 2 hrs.

Tricks:  She is sitting up really steady now, and barely needs support.  Sometimes I put the boppy around her, if I go into another room...just so she doesn't fall backwards.  She still loves the exersaucer. We officially put away the bouncy seats and play mat.  It's amazing the space we seemed to acquire by doing so.  She loves music, and even bops her little hands to it.  She loves to laugh at her brother and sisters and she loves her toes!

Josie has been a pretty easy going baby lately and we all just love her to bits!

Happy 6 months sweet Josephine!

No School, Bowling, and Dancing

Both Jackie and Gwen had last Friday off of school...Gwen with Parent/Teacher conferences and Jackie with Teacher In Service. It was fun to have them both home. They all really do enjoy each other and keep each other entertained!  Below, one of those rare moments where they were all sitting still to get a picture together.  Gwen's conference went very well.  She is quiet at school, but is participating more and more.  She is very precise at cutting and coloring, loves numbers, and the calendar job.  Gwen will go to the Frog room next year for Transitional Kindergarten and will have several of her friends from this year in her class!

Daddy surprised us on Friday by leaving work early.  So we decided to have a family fun afternoon.  The girls both voting on bowling!  It was a blast and since it was a Friday afternoon, we basically had the place to ourselves.
Josie cheering us on!

The end scores!  Jackie bowled a nice game, and barely hit the bumpers this time around.  I had a slump towards the end of the game...but as you can see ended with three strikes in the 10th!  John still ended up the winner!

On Saturday, Jackie and John had the Daddy/Daughter dance at her school.  Oh this girl of mine...when did you get so big?!

They met up with a friend and her father for a nice, fancy dinner before the dance.  John reported that Jackie was in the "mosh pit"...jumping up and down for a full two hours, until she pooped out and was ready to come home!
