Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trek to the Deanna Rose Pumpkin Patch while Jackie was off of school last week. It was a beautiful day and all the kids had a good time. Beau was a little hesitant of the horse drawn wagon ride to the patch, but I think more because it was packed with people. It was a busy day there...lots of school field trips and with school being out for some kids. It was cute seeing my kids kind of stick together and look out for each other.  All in all, it was a successful outing.  I think the kids' favorite part might have actually been "tailgating" in the parking lot after the pumpkin patch for lunch!  They asked if we could do that again sometime!  Some pictures of the day....Josie didn't make it into any of the pictures because she was attached to me on the front carrier :)

Big Boy Haircut and More

I finally bit the bullet and took Beau to get his second haircut.  The first one, I had the luxury of my friend doing it when I was there for my hair appointment.  However, the timing wasn't quite right with my hair this time.  I had been putting it off for weeks, because it was one of those things I wasn't really sure how I was going to manage with a newborn. But I mustered up the courage, and we just did it.  Imagine Josie in the front carrier sleeping, me sitting with her to one side, and Beau on my other knee.  Three lollipops and hair covering us later....Beau emerged looking like a five year old!

Later that day, he was feeling like such a big boy...he decided he wanted to hold Josie.  Here he is trying to shove the paci in her mouth!

2 Months!

Josie turned 2 months old today!  She is starting to get quite a bit more comfortable in her skin lately.  She had a pretty fussy week between weeks 7 and 8, but I'm pretty sure it was a growth spurt.  She is flashing more and more smiles and is content for longer periods of time.  She still likes her swaddle when its time to sleep though...and it always amazes me how much it calms her down while in it.  We are using the white noise less and less at night when getting her to sleep.  She is really stretching things out at night between feedings and going up to 8 hours.  So pretty much, I'm just getting up once...with her.  She is a little more difficult to get back to sleep after that long stretch though.  So sometimes we are up for the day at 3am, and then of course once the other kiddos are up for the day...she settles into a nice sleep.  This helps getting Jackie and Gwen ready for school though.

She still does not like the car seat, but does great in the front carrier.  Thank you to whoever invented that thing...I don't know what we'd do without it!  She did a little bumbo seat time the other day, and tolerated that pretty well...and she still does tummy/activity mat time.  The older kids especially like to see her do these!

She had her check up at just a little over 6 weeks...and was 9lbs and 4oz.  She is definitely our little peanut!  I'm guessing she is up over 10lbs now though.
